Complaining fans....

*DISCLAIMER* First I would like to say this is just a general rant of things I see frequently with Backstreet Boys fans. The whole mixtape/BBQ events are what is triggering me to write this blog but this isn't the ONLY time/event this has happened with. It happens ALL the time. And its not directed towards any one person but just in general. So here goes...

I know a lot of fans pay LOTS of money to meet the boys, ect. and what is the FIRST thing a lot of those fans who pay all that money say? "This is too expensive." or "Why do they charge so much?" or other things like that right?....Right. Some fans forget two things when saying things like that....1. NO ONE is making you pay whatever the amount is they are charging you. 2. Even though the boys love what they do at the end of the day it IS their job. Do you wanna do your job and NOT get paid for it and do it just because you love it? If any of you just said yes you are lying. There aren't that many people out there these days who will work for free whether they love their job or not, sorry.

Another thing fans seem to forget is that if you were so mad or against the prices of VIP or any other events and enough fans got together to boycott these VIPS or events then the boys and their management would finally realize that they charge to much, ect. But for every 100 fans who complain they don't like the prices there are another 100 who don't care and are willing to pay the money to do the VIPS and other events.

Something else a lot of fans seem to think is that the boys owe them a million and one things and they deserve all this stuff handed to them on a silver platter. They don't seem to appreciate what they actually have. Fans want to meet the boys so they make it so you can buy VIP/SC passes and meet the boys. What happens? Fans complain because there is a barricade. When you buy VIP does it say "you will get your picture taken with the boys and there will not be a barricade?" No it doesn't. So if they wanted to stand on the stage and make the fans stand in front of them on the stage they could do that and that would still be fans getting a pic WITH the boys. (don't get any ideas boys ;) haha) So as long as you get a pic and the boys are in it technically they did their part of the agreement. But then fans want more like no barricades or whatever else things fans think they SHOULD get because they dished out all this money. Like I said NO ONE makes you buy the stuff. And MOST fans are able to go on to the FC to read/see past shows/VIPs/ect so you know exactly what you are getting BEFORE you buy.

Perhaps some fans forget what it was like from the beginning until around Black and Blue or even Never Gone a little bit. Where you couldn't even breathe around the boys. It was harder to meet them. (Yes I know most of that was due to their popularity but still) There wasn't Sound check parties where you got the chance to meet them, ect. Even on the Never Gone tour they gave you the opportunity to win SC passes to WATCH them sing but not meet them. Then they decided to go ahead and change it up where you can WATCH SC and meet the boys and some fans STILL wanna complain and think that its not good enough.

There are some fans who haven't ever even been able to see the boys in concert let alone be in the same building as them. Or fans who can't travel, ect for the boys. (not saying the ones who CAN travel should feel bad or not travel because some can't but just some things to think about)

Personally the way I see it when the boys took their break before Never Gone honestly I wasn't sure if they were ever gonna get back together so in a sense I kind of think of Never Gone until now as "the bonus years." I never in a million years thought the boys would still be together going on 20 years so I am happy with the fact they still wanna make music and do fun events and stuff. Because really if they wanted to they could just go into the studio record a CD, do the promo, go on tour, perform during the show and continue on. The fact they wanna have SC parties or be a part events like Mixtape and have a BBQ or do cruises, ect.

It seems to happen a lot in life not even with just BSB but people always want "more! more! more!" when they should just be happy and appreciative of the things they have or the things they have had or been able to do.

And on that note I end my blog. Again this isn't directed at anyone in particular and I know not ALL fans are like this but I know A LOT of fans who do have this type of mentality and its really quite sad.

My first meeting with Brian Littrell (4-2-06)

(I'm moving all my blogs from myspace to here. So here is the first of many....)

Original post date: April 3, 2006)

My 10 year dream finally came true

(I know its kinda of long-but i didnt wanna leave anything out )

Ok so here's my story...

I was calm as ever all the way until Brian snuck behind the crowd to get in and everyone screamed. After that it finally sunk it like "OH HEY YOU ARE ABOUT TO MEET BRIAN THOMAS LITTRELL!!!!

So I was talking to Leighanne while I waited in line to see Brian (and she was so sweet) that's when they noticed us blasting "I'm alive" and Brian's face was priceless he was like "Who's playing that?" and everyone pointed at Laura and he's like "It's not even out yet" and we were like "You played it on that interview." and him and Leighanne were like "oooooh yeah" LOL So then it was my turn and Leighanne saw my shirt that said "I WAITED TEN YEARS FOR THIS" and she was like "awwww your shirt is gonna make me cry" and Brian was like "What baby?" and she was like "look at her shirt" and he was like "awwww you really waited 10 years to meet me?" and I was like "YUP!" and he was like "awwww thank you" :)

Then I asked Brian to record a message into my little recordable frame I had. He of course said yes. :)  Leighanne saw it and was like "awww this is so cute-do u wake up to this every morning?" (I thought she said something else. LOL) I started laughing and was like "YEAH?" and she was like "Are you trying to move in on my man?"I started laughing and was like "noooo." She laughed and said "I'm only kidding."  (So funny) So then Brian was like "What's ur name?" I told him Amber and he was like "Amber"? I said yes and he was like "Alright." The I asked him to sign a pic of him I had.  Leighanne was like "This is such a cute pic of him where is it from?" I told her that he is always cute and told her it was from the Never Gone show in Buffalo. Brian went to sign my pic with the black sharpie he had and I was like "No!" and he kind of had this "What the heck?" look on his face and I said "I want you to use this one(it was silver) so it shows up better."  He was like "you want me to use yours? Ok." LOL The I asked for a picture. I asked for Leighanne to be in the picture. So Brian got Leighanne after a little whining and crying.(Not really he was just trying to be dramatic. It was funny)  Before I left I made sure to experience a hug from Brian. He said yes. He really does give the most AMAZING hugs on the planet. LOL As we hugged he whispered in my ear "Thank you for coming." (Pretty sure I melted into a pile of goo at that very moment. LOL)

I gave him this little book with bible verses and stuff in it and told him how Philappeans 4:13 was in there. He thought it was cool.  After that we just hung around. Randomly talked to Brian. Got to watch him do an interview at one point. It was really cool. Towards the end we asked him to talk like Donald Duck (and he did) it was super cute. Then this group of 4 black guys(some other group that was there) came to talk to
Brian and people were taking pics of them together and Brian was like "hey look its
the new Backstreet Boys!!!!" Then he laughed and was like "I didn't really say that."

I asked him where Baylee was and he said how he was up in the hotel room painting with their assistant. His face was cute. You could tell he just loves that little boy so much and loves talking about him. :)

This is the message he left me when I asked him to record a message for me: "Hey Amber, It's Brian...God
bless ya, I wanna thank you for coming to meet me at GMA week and uhhhhummm I'll talk
to u soon....GOTTA GO" :)

And that about sums up one of the greatest days of my life. I hope you enjoyed it. :)

The Retweet button on twitter...

Pretty sure I have a love/hate(but mostly hate) relationship with the "retweet" option on twitter. First off it is NOT necessary for you to RT someone just to reply to them. Is that not what the @ reply button is for? I think so. I can KIND OF understand if its something really great, funny or important but other than that it will be okay just @ reply the person. I know a lot of celebrities do it and I get that because a fan might ask a question and obviously you won't see the question unless you follow that fan so it makes sense(even if it is still pretty annoying.lol) But if you aren't a celebrity chances are no one really cares that much. And I know what someone is thinking right now as they read this...."I follow you on twitter and you have done this before." And you know what? You are probably right but like I said it is NOT necessary to do it ALL THE TIME. I promise I don't do that a lot. LOL The biggest pet peeve I have with this is when you get a tweet like this: @im_cooler_than_you: Holy cow I'm tired!!! and someone RTs it and just puts +1! I'm sorry if you do this but it drives me INSANE. Like you can't just @ reply them and say "Yo man me too." So freaking annoying.

Another annoying thing with RT'ing is when someone randomly RTs something(usually from a celebrity) that they tweeted like 6 months ago. Like really? Who the hell cares. All it does it make others think that person just recently tweeted and it gets annoying. So chances are you probably shouldn't do it. That also kind of goes with the whole "let's RT the last 9 things the BSB twitter said, the last 7 things Brian tweeted and the last 3 things Howie just tweeted." Let's be real most of us on twitter are on twitter for BSB so chances are we all follow BSB and their individual pages so chances are we seen the same tweets you are just RT'ing to your followers. I'm pretty sure they haven't tweeted something so amazing that all your non-BSB loving friends wanna see. So its pretty pointless.

I also don't understand when you tweet someone(usually happens with celebrities) asking a question and they just RT you and nothing else. Like really? Why not just answer the question? LOL That's also like when someone RT's a tweet and then RT's the same tweet AGAIN to reply to it. It was probably not necessary to RT it in the first place so why waste the time RTing it twice? LOL

And my final issue with the whole RT thing. I see A LOT of fans tweet celebrities(I mostly see it with football players) and they say things like "Can I get a Retweet for being the biggest Buffalo Bills fan in Florida?" And then that certain player RT's them. Like I don't get it. Wouldn't you rather ask them a real question or have them tweet you back "Hi" or something other than just a RT? Maybe its just me but its weird. LOL

And that my friends concludes my thoughts on how I feel about the RT button. I promise this wasn't mean to hurt any feelings, just sharing my opinions. Carry on...

Back to me - Howie D. (lyrics)

Back to me

No matter how many times
I try to say it
looks like she made up her mind
that she can save this
so now she keeps coming back to me
(back to me, back to me)
and I can't help that
I don't feel the same way
Girl I'm sorry but...

You're only making this harder for you
Cause loving is something that I just can't do
Girl you had a chance
but now its time to move on
and now we gotta go our separate ways

it doesn't matter what you do or say
cause nothing between you and I is gonna change
but you keep coming back to the same old place
girl it feels like you were my boomerang

she's coming back to me, back to me
coming back to me, back to me
coming back to me, back to me
here she comes
(repeat)

Girl I keep walking away
and still you come back
with every step that I take
you take me one back
but this is killing me
why can't you just let me go
and move on
Girl I'm sorry but....

You're only making this harder for you
Cause loving is something that I just can't do
you had a chance
but now its time to move on
and now we gotta go our separate ways girl

it doesn't matter what you do or say
cause nothing between you and I is gonna change
but you keep coming back to the same old place
girl it feels like you were my boomerang

she's coming back to me, back to me
coming back to me, back to me
coming back to me, back to me
here she comes
(repeat)

No matter where I wanna go
(where I want to go)
you're always pull me back where we started(yeah)
Girl its time to pick up and go (go, go, go)
cause this is your final throw

it doesn't matter what you do or say
cause nothing between you and I is gonna change
but you keep coming back to the same old place
girl it feels like you were my boomerang

it doesn't matterrrrrrr

it doesn't matter what you do or say
cause nothing between you and I is gonna change
but you keep coming back to the same old place
girl it feels like you were my boomerang

she's coming back to me, back to me
coming back to me, back to me
coming back to me, back to me
here she comes
(repeat)

Going Going Gone - Howie Dorough lyrics

Going going gone
I'll be, I'll be, I'll be....going going gone

I thought you would always be
the one here by my side
but this is your chance to show
me I'm not wasting my time
I've waited so patiently
but I'm here all alone
girl not for very long
in a moment I'll be gone

PRE-CHORUS:
Can I hear you say one time?
that your the one for me
Do I hear you say two times?
that your never gonna leave
What about three times?
that I'm the one you need
you know just what to say
no I dont have all day

CHORUS:
see your running outta time
my heart you'll never win
when you paid the price
I thought you might
so baby in the end
when all is said and done
I'll be moving on
been waiting for to long
now im going going gone

I'll be(I'm gone, I'm gone)
I'm going going gone
I'll be(I'm gone, I'm gone)
I'm going going gone

make up your mind
better hurry up and decide
don't wanna be left
but you dont know how to be right
your gonna regret if your not first in line
and i'm not there anymore
in a moment I'll be gone

(REPEAT PRE-CHORUS)

(REPEAT CHORUS)

See I'm going
if you don't try
then you'll never win
I'll be going
if you don't speak
you know where this ends
I want you to have my heart
but you're making this so hard
I can't wait around too long
I'm going going gone

REPEAT CHORUS (twice)

I'm gone I'm gone I'm going going gone
I'm gone I'm gone I'm going going gone

Howie Dorough - Back To Me (Debut CD)

So Howie D. from the Backstreet Boys finally released his solo CD and I have to say I am pleasantly surprised by it. Honestly I didn't think I would like it that much but its really good. I decided to give my 3 cents on each song and say why I like it or why I don't like it. :)

1. 100 - its a pretty catchy song. The beat is fun. I dunno if I would have picked it for the lead off single. Side note: The chapstick promo he did for the song was pretty creative, not gonna lie. ;)

2. Back to me - this song is one of my favorites. I dunno what it is about the song but I love it. Its catchy and fun. I really love the chorus. I like the reference about a boomerang, clever.

3. Going going gone - another one of my favorites. I have had this song stuck in my head for the past week.(not that I am complaining) I like the "Can I hear you say 1 time...do I hear you say 2 times? What about 3 times..."  My favorite part is the "don't wanna be left but you don't know how to be right." It amuses me.

4. Lie to me -  From the first time I heard this song I loved it. Its catchy and the lyrics are good. Good choice for a second single I think.

5. Pure - at first this was my favorite song but after listening to the songs a lot it got bumped down a little but I still like it. Howie and Nick co-wrote this together, they definitely are good together.

6. Sleepwalking - Really digging the lyrics to this song. I like songs that don't use the typical stuff to talk about wanting/loving a person.

7. Stay - this song is just alright. I mean I don't hate it, but its not my favorite either. Guess I just like the othe songs more.

8. This is just what I needed - The song is fun but the rap kind of ruins it for me. I dunno it just kind of doesn't fit with the song really. I think I would like it better without it. I also am kind of digging Howie's freaky side with some of the lyrics. haha Also his little "yeah" in the beginning is pretty sexy. ;)

9. Dominoes -  At first I thought the song was just okay but then I listened to it more and really listened to the lyrics and I really like the way he uses the lyrics. Its a really fun, catchy song with some cool metaphors.

10. Over my head - my first thought for this song was that he has the same title for a song on his solo record as Brian. LOL  I don't like about the song is the repetition of  "over my head" at times its a bit too much. It also reminds me of another song but I can't think of the name of it. I also don't care too much for the auto-tune that is used at times.

11. Shatterproof - this is a good song. I like the line "you think your shatterproof but I throw myself into you prepare to crash cause I can't wait for you to break what makes you so afraid to break..." The beat is pretty good too.

12. Way to your heart - I can see why Howie told me this was one of his favorites. Its pretty, the beat is good. Its a great way to end the CD I think.

So the moral of this review really is that his CD is pretty amazing and you should go to iTunes, amazon, orhowied.com  and buy it. Its awesome and so is Howie. :)

First time...

This is just a little introduction into my blog and me. I decided to start this blog as a way to express(or as I like to call it "rant") my thoughts, ideas, opinions, ect. Some might agree with what I say while others will probably wanna smack me for what I have to say but the beauty of it is that its MY OPINION and MY BLOG so I can say WHATEVER I WANT! :) So here goes nothing.....
