Glory Revealed tour 2007

Another installment of a throwback Thursday blog. This time from the Glory Revealed tour that Brian was a part of with other Christian artists. I went to 3 and a 1/2 shows.(one was cut short because it was during GMA week.)

April 9, 2007: Frederick, MD.
The show: I drove from Buffalo to Frederick, MD. It took about 6 and a 1/2 hours. I go there about 3:30pm found out I had just missed Brian. We were hanging outside the venue. Brian, Mac Powell and David Nasser came out of a restaurant across the street after eating. Mac and David kind of hung out in the back while Brian chatted and signed stuff for us. He signed my Christian planet magazine and said "Let me tell you a little trivia about this, the shirt is actually green." I was like "uhhhh okay?" (Still convinced its blue Brian ;) LOL) After a few minutes they said he had to go so they left.

So we went inside to get our tickets, look at merchandise, ect. For the first show we had row 16. Not too close but they weren't that bad either. The lighting for the first show was bad. There was fog, it was terrible. I didn't take many pics really because they barely turned out. At times Brian seemed really bored, in fact all the artists seemed like they weren't really feeling it at first. (It was the first show of the tour so I guess its kind of acceptable. lol) But him and the rest of the artists seemed to really open up more as the tour rolled along. It almost seemed like the 1st show of the tour was a "practice" show, even David Nasser made a similar comment. All the other artists made Backstreet Boys jokes randomly throughout the show, it was hilarious. Mac introduced Brian and told the story about how they started working together and how they co-wrote "You alone." Mac talked about how Brian asked to change up things on "You alone" and Mac was kind of nervous at first. But then after hearing the final product he loved it. Then he sang "You alone." Told the story of writing "Welcome Home" and then sang it. He only did 3 songs on his own, the final song was "Over my head." He talked about it was his current single. I was super excited because that's my favorite song. :)

The other artists were really good too. I didn't know much about any of them before the tour but after I became fans of their music. The one group was Shane and Shane and when they went to sing the one Shane was talking about how cool it was to be on the same stage with Mr. Powell and a Backstreet Boy.

David Nasser's speech/sermon was absolutely hilarious. It was how he informed us about God and his glory and stuff but he did it in a fun not so preachy type of way. "You stick a lighter under their chin and you say 'It's hot in hell baby come on home!" They ended the show with "By his wounds." Then they all did a few prayer songs. Overall I was very impressed with the show.

Meet-n-Greet:

We didn't even know there would be one until David Nasser said during the show how all the artists wanted to meet the fans so that was cool. We were the first ones in line. Not all the artists were at the table. But the ones who were there signed my Glory Revealed poster I had bought. Mac Powell asked me if I enjoyed the show and I said yes and how I was going to the next show(tomorrow) and the shows in Chattanooga and Nashville, TN. He said that was awesome and asked where I was from. Told him Buffalo and the Shane's chimed in to say "It's always cold there but they have good chicken wings." (Typical Buffalo stereo-types. LOL)

I got to Brian he thanked me for coming and signed my poster. He saw I was wearing my HHC hoodie and he said "That's a cool shirt." I said "Oh yeah? I think you should get one." And he laughed and said "I think I have one in my closest." I asked him to "smile pretty" and he did...well...

My friend asked Brian to hold up his necklace but at first he thought she meant his cross bracelet so he held it up and was like "This was a gift from my wife." Then we were like "no the necklace" So he held up his "Cross bling"(as he called it) and said "definitely won this at a swap meet." (I doubt it but you never know with that man. LOL)

After we were just chilling and David Nasser stopped to talk to us. He was picking on Brian's height which was funny because they were about the same height. He told us if we wanted a picture with Brian we'd have to duck down because he's really short and how they all share a tour bus and that since his wife isn't on the road to help he has to help give him a boost up into his bunk at night.

(Me and David Nasser)

April 10, 2007: Woodbridge, VA.

The show: So it was about an hour from Frederick, MD. to Woodbridge, VA. We got there a little bit early and kept seeing the artists come out to the bus for stuff, except Brian. He was being a "Diva" this day. ;) So about 6 we went into the venue got our tickets this time we were in row C. The lighting was much better for this show. All the artists seemed to open up more during this show as well. Before the show(and before seeing Brian at all) we joked that he would wear pink....and he did. Kind of creepy. ;) LOL

When it was Brian's turn to sing he told a quick story about "Welcome Home" and why he wrote it, where he wrote it and his story about being a Christian singer. He told the same story about working with Mac Powell as well.
Before he went to sing "Over my head" they were having technical difficulties so Brian and the rest of the artists started singing the "Mississippi Squirrel revival" (It was pretty hilarious)

He talked about how he was gonna remake some Backstreet Boys songs and sing "Oh my God it's Shane and Shane." Shane E. was talking about how creative all the artists were and Brian get up and show everyone the little rhinestones on his pants and said "Brian recently got a bedazzler and he put rhinestones on his pants and tomorrow he's gonna come on my bus and help me with my pants." LOL

Meet-n-Greet: This time we were at the end of the line. Hanging out, taking random pictures and playing around. So its our turn to go through the line. This was when we discovered Mac Powell wasn't a fan of us but that's okay. He even told us to leave and go to the Waffle house. Haha Oops?

So this time I had everyone sign my Glory Revealed CD except when I got to Brian I cheated and asked him to sign my Welcome Home CD too. ;) Of course he was his typically sweet self and said sure. Before I got to Brian though we were talking to David Nasser and he started singing "Over my head" and then he was like "So you really are here just for Brian aren't you tell me the truth?" And I said "Honestly at first yes but after discovering the other artists I am becoming a fan of everyone." He was like "That's awesome but I have a question for you?" I was thinking "Oh boy he's probably gonna ask me to name 1 bible verse for each Backstreet Boy or something.(If you've seen the show you understand what I mean) but then he was like "So who's your favorite *N SYNC member?" and I laughed and was like "why would you ask me that when Brian's right over there?" And Brian heard and laughed and said "Really? Come on now." (His face was funny) Then David was like "Alright for real though I don't care what anyone says you know what I say? "Forget Justin bringing sexy back, Brian's bringing church back!" my mouth kind of just dropped and David was like "What's wrong?" and I said "Look at what my shirt says that I made?" My shirt said "Forget Justin bringing sexy back, Brian's church back!" And I just made that up and none of the artists had seen it before so it was pretty creepy that he said the same thing. So David was like "How cool is that? I just made that joke up right now on the spot and never seen your shirt." And I was like "Actually its kind of creepy." LOL Brian saw my shirt and said it was awesome. :) Brian also decided to "smile" nicely for me again. Haha He's a dork. He told us thanks again for being there and we told him how we'd be in TN for the Dove awards and GMA week and he said how awesome it was and that he'd see us there.

April 20, 2007: Chattanooga, TN.
The show: Won't go into too much detail since I already talked about it in the 2 previous shows. It was pretty much the same.

Brian and Mac told the story of how they started working together. Mac made fun of Brian's impression of  Mac and told him he sounded like George W. Bush. Mac was like "I was like the president is calling B-rok that's awesome." And Brian was like "he wouldn't be doing that." Mac was talking about how he was scared Brian wanted to change stuff on "You alone." He was like "I was preparing myself I was like I'm gonna have to tell a Backstreet Boy no on this one." He was like "I was expecting 'ohh baby.' and Brian was like "Come on, it's scripture, its scripture night." And Mac was like "ohh baby Jesus and then Brian was like "Baby Jesus in a manger yowwww." Then Mac said how Brian brought him the song and loved it. It was pretty funny.
Brian told his stories about his songs and being a Christian artist.
Brian also sang a song with Tim Neufield and I loved it.

There wasn't a meet-n-greet after this show because Mac Powell and David Nasser had their families out with them. We went behind the venue to where the buses were to see if we could see Brian because my one friend wanted to meet him and never had the chance. As soon as we got there Brian was getting off his bus and the one security guard told us he wouldn't come over. I had a card for him since it was the boys 14th anniversary that day. So we yelled "Brian!" and he yelled back "What?" And I said I had a card for him and how there were girls who wanted to meet him that never have. So as he was walking over he was telling the security guard how it was okay that we were there and stuff. As soon as he came over he gave me the most gigantic bear hug, I loved it! :)

I handed him the card and he looked confused so I told him how it was the boys 14th anniversary and he was like "are you sure it's today?" And I said "Yeah April 20th you became a Backstreet Boy in 1993, on April 19th in 1993 your cousin Kevin called you." He laughed and was like "ohhh you are right." LOL He took pictures with everyone and chatted. (my picture is horrible because 2 different people were taking the picture so we weren't looking at the same camera. LOL)

I asked him if there would be a video for "Over my head" and he told me no and I asked why and he said "Because there isn't a big budget for it in the Christian world, cuz I aint no Justin Timberlake." Then he proceeded to dance like JT and I was like "Brian, please stop you are much better than him." LOL Then we talked about his show coming up in the summer, he said it sounded familiar and that he would see me there. LOL Then a lady came out and had to take Brian away.

April 23, 2007: Nashville, TN.

This show was part of Gospel Music Week so it was cut short and they didn't perform as many songs.
But after the show all the artists walked by us so they stopped and chatted. Got pictures with Shane and Shane. Super sweet guys.
Brian stopped and chatted for a little bit. He was with Leighanne. They are super adorable.
After we chatted we got pictures with them as well. Brian was asking us to tell him why we needed pictures or something. I forget, but he was joking and I said "Because you are pretty...." Then he laughed and I said "Wait...no...that wasn't supposed to come out like that. That was supposed to be one of those things I think in my head." And he said "no, its cool let's take a picture because I'm pretty." LOL
And then Leighanne was telling us cute Baylee stories. I seriously love the Littrells. :)
April 25, 2007: Nashville, TN. Brian hosted the Dove Awards with Donnie McClurkin and Natalie Grant but he also performed as part of Glory Revealed. They sang "By his wounds" and it was awesome. :)
And that was the end of my Glory Revealed tour journey. It was so much fun. Started out mostly going for Brian but in the end I discovered so many more talented artists so I am SO glad I went. The CD is amazing as well. :)

Welcome Home Tour - November 4, 2006 Toronto, Ontario Canada

(Again this is an old blog/review just adding it from myspace/ect. to here since I missed Thursday we will call this a #FlashbackFriday blog. ;) lol)

So  I drove to Toronto...not too bad of a drive about 2 hours. I got to the venue super early, met up with friends who were waiting already. There were about 15 fans or so inside. (Apparently we were the smart ones since everyone else waited outside. LOL) We all waited for a while and chatted and hung out and found things to keep us amused. LOL

Fast forward a hundred hours and its about 6 pm. They decided to line us all up in some small room with no windows or anything and they closed the door.(Not so smart. LOL) So we are waiting for what seemed to be forever. I tried to convince the one security guy(Curtis) to let me go watch Brian Sound Check but he wouldn't so eventually I convinced the other security guy(Preston) that I had to go to the "bathroom." ;) That didn't totally work out so well because Brian's tour manager was blocking the door but I saw a little bit. I heard him while in the bathroom(I decided I actually had to go. Haha) singing "I want it that way" only he changed up the lyrics and was singing "I really don't want it that way." Would you really expect anything else from him? LOL

So we go in and sit down. I was in the front off to the side a little bit. Then the opening act came out. She was local girl apparently named Roshawna(or something close to that.) She was alright. I was really just ready for Brian at this point after waiting forever so I didn't pay that much attention. LOL

So while we are waiting for Brian to come on stage I see a few girls run to the stage so I decided to do the same. I ended up front row RIGHT IN FRONT OF HIS MIC! Literally touching the stage! Best view ever!!!  He came on stage and was like "It looks like a mosh pit up in here!" Then he welcomed everyone to the show and said "Do you mind if I take you to church for about an hour?" Of course everyone screamed and cheered. He started out with "My answer is you," then he did "Wish." He did all the songs off of Welcome Home except "Jesus Loves You." He also did "In Christ Alone," "Don't Take The Girl" and even a BSB medley(I want it that way and As long as you love me.)

He looked amazing. He wore jeans(not the "holy" ones-I was happy about that. lol) and a zip up hoodie with a striped shirt underneath that said "Handle with care" when he took off his hoodie you could see his arms and tattoo and he was just looking good. He waved to me during "Angels and Heroes" when he sang the line "we are the strange familiar faces." He reached out and grabbed my hand once too.

I started tearing up a little bit when he started talking about Leighanne before doing "Gone without Goodbye." It doesn't matter how many times I hear that story it breaks my heart every single time. He talked about his little dogs getting attacked my coyotes, so sad. Poor pups. :( He mentioned BSB and how they were recording and how the new CD should be out in the spring of 2007.(We know that didn't actually happen. Backstreet time. ;) lol) He said he talked to Kevin last week, and he spoke to Nick and Howie recently on the phone and played golf with AJ 4 days ago.  He was like "Yes the other Backstreet Boys live with me, they live in my house." LOL Fans yelled for Baylee to come out(so weird lol) and he said how he wasn't there but if he was he would probably steal his microphone.)
There was a birthday party. The one little girl was turning 9 so Brian brought them on stage during "I'm alive." They were cute, so shy. But it looked like they had fun. He was like "I met those eleven 9 year olds backstage and I walked in and they were like 'AHHH!' and I was like I was making music before you were born but that's cool Mom and Dad like me."

He talked about Leighanne before singing "Grace of my life" and then asked where she was and asked her to come on stage. So she did. They are cute. He told everyone who she was then he "kicked" her off stage literally. ;) A fan yelled out "I love Leighanne!" and Brian replied with "I love her too!"
Someone yelled out "Brian you are so perfect!" And he made a face and said "I'm far from perfect....You can tell Leighanne that." And the fan yelled out "Leighanne, Brian is perfect!" and Brian laughed. It was funny.

He ended with "Welcome Home." Then he left and came back a few minutes later and thanked everyone for coming and asking if he could do one more song. So I yelled out "Over my head" because I knew that was coming and he looked down at me and laughed and said "How did you know that?" and I said "Because I know everything?!?" And he laughed.
Then someone yelled out for him to do "Like a child" and he said "oooh Like a child nice."  Too bad he didn't do it. LOL

After the show he signed autographs from the stage. I couldn't go anywhere even if I wanted to so I hung out. He signed my shirt, at first my sharpie wouldn't work but eventually it did. LOL He kept my sharpie to use it to sign for other fans but he told me he'd give it back to me. So I was getting squished but I was keeping myself amused, playing with Brian's boots and stuff. At one point he looked down at me and said "are you alright?" and I laughed and said "Yeah I'm good just hanging out, I can't go anywhere and you have my sharpie." And he was like "I have your pen? I'll give it back." And I said "I know, I'm not really worried I just can't really go anywhere." LOL

After the show there was a meet-n-greet but about 6 people knew about it. Not very cool to have a meet-n-greet with an artist but not tell anyone. Those people were weird anyways. I didn't really care anyways I was happy with everything else that happened that day. LOL

What do you get when you mix a hurricane & a Backstreet Boy?

Revelation Generation: Frenchtown, NJ. 9/2/06.

So Brian was supposed to perform at Revelation Generation...only that didn't happen because Hurricane Ernesto had other plans. LOL

First I drove from Buffalo to NJ. That took about 8 hours. Fun stuff. Checked into the hotel for the night since the event wasn't until the next day.

So we got to the farm that was in the middle of nowhere at like 6am. We wanted to be in the front. I didn't think we needed to get there THAT early for a Christian concert but we did. Turned out we weren't the only ones with that idea. There were a few other fans there as well. The event staff was still finishing setting everything up. So we just hung out played around and amused ourselves for a while.

They had a sign for the event. Check out how they spelled Brian's name: FAIL!

It started to rain a little bit but at first it wasn't too serious. By 11am we were soaked. Everyone kept saying "Oh don't worry the show is still happening." We would randomly ask people about the show and if Brian was there yet and stuff. They kept saying "He's on his way." They kept trying to fix the tarp on the stage that kept blowing around. They had 2 stages. A few acts actually performed before the weather got really bad. By around 2pm nothing was happening and everyone was getting annoyed and mad.

They even had a sign that was at a table where Brian was supposed to do a Meet-N-Greet after he performed. That never happened though.

I decided to go find someone who looked like they knew what they were doing and I said to the guy "Can you please tell me where Brian Littrell is?" He pointed and said "He's over there in that Hummer." I looked at him and said "If I go over there and he's not there we are gonna have a problem." So I didn't believe the guy so I decided to be funny and I like tip-toed towards the Hummer. Well I should have believed the guy because as I did that the window of the hummer starts going down and I see Brian making a cheesy/silly face. Then he waved. Oops? At first it was me and a few friends. Then about 2 minutes later there were a bunch of fans. Guess word got out where Brian was hiding? ;) Security was lame and wouldn't let anyone really near Brian except for like 3 fans who came all the way from Europe to see Brian perform. LOL

I managed to hand Brian (a very wet) card. It happened to be his and Leighanne's anniversary that day. Leighanne was actually with him. She was in the backseat of the hummer. He said Thank you. Then they made everyone back away because they were leaving. Since Brian wasn't performing they moved his flight up so he could go home. Brian was in the drivers seat but he hopped over to go into the passenger seat. (Guess he didn't wanna get out and go around and get all wet? LOL)

I was standing on the passenger side as he drove away so he waved and mouthed "You look a little wet!" Leighanne slapped his shoulder like she was saying "That was mean." Good job Leighanne because it was a little mean. LOL

So the trip was pretty wasted but seeing Brian for a few minutes is better than not seeing him at all I guess.

Cruise rules/tips....

*Disclaimer: If you read the following items and believe any of them or take any of them serious I am sorry. The end*

1.  There is no sleeping on the cruise.

2.  Don't give Casey more than 1 chocolate milk at a time.

3. If you see Heather falling asleep while eating an ice cream please return her to Cabin #214.

4. If you wonder why Brian appears drunk after only 2 drinks its because he puts 1/4th orange juice, 3/4ths vodka.

5. DO NOT under any circumstances eat the chocolate melting cake, You'll thank me later.

6. It's NEVER a good idea to eat eggs, sausage and pizza while drinking rum and chocolate milk.

7. It never leads to anything good if you give Amber a butter knife, it's even worse if its accompanied by a napkin.

8. It's highly recommended to play with Kevin's hair any chance you get, in fact he encourages it.

9. Watch out for creeping Howie's. They like to appear out of nowhere drunk, especially at 4am. Side effects: Yelling out "Where the fuck did you come from Howie?"

10.  If the boys have a concert on TV it's okay to miss it because you are on a boat WITH THEM.

11. You may experience a pants moment, don't be alarmed its only temporary and you will return to normal in 2-3 business days.

12. If a Backstreet Boy gives you sneakers watch out for Heather because she might almost spill something on them several times.

Welcome Home Tour - Allentown, PA. 6/13/06

**sidenote: Some blogs are gonna be "old" but I am transferring them from myspace/ect. to here so they are all in one place. It's gonna be like a "Throwback Thursday" of blogs until they all get moved here. So enjoy. :)  (One other thing a lot of these are a couple years old so if they sound dumb that's probably why. lol) **

I drove about 7 hours to Allentown, PA. to see Brian on his solo tour. That was the closest place he was performing a full set. So as we were driving there we were about 4 hours in I realized I forgot my camera, I obviously couldn't turn around to get it. So I just enjoyed the show and didn't take any pics. I "borrowed" them from friends. ;) LOL

Before the show:

I got to the venue about 9am, some of my friends were already waiting. We waited for what seemed like forever. (Even on his solo tour he was channeling that Backstreet time. ;) lol) Brandon Heath was one of the opening acts along with a female artist named Ana Laura(I think). We met Brandon before the show, he was a sweetheart. I tried to convince him to let me in to see Brian but that didn't work. Then the owner the club "Fabio"(that's just what we called him) decided to let the first 15-20 fans who were waiting in line go in and meet Brian. So we were all waiting in this little dining area for Brian to finish sound checking. We could hear him doing it. We heard the BSB medley and "My Answer Is You." He sounded fabulous.

So a little bit later he finally came into the room and was like "Wow. It's kinda quiet in here." We all laughed and said "They told us to behave." So we all got in line. When it was my turn to meet him I got a hug and asked him to sign my shirt. (I didn't know I was going to meet him so I wasn't prepared so I didn't bring anything for him to sign.) He said "Can I read it first?" (It said on the front: "I'm in Over My Head, I'm right where I wanna be..." and on the back: "So lost within Brian's love the love that always covers me.") So he read it and he had to move my hair out the way to read it all(I died a little LOL) and when he was reading the back he started singing "so lost within your love..." (I died a little there too) Then he signed it and he put his hand down my shirt a little to have an easier time signing it and was like "Sorry for the hand reach." And I laughed and said "It's alright." Then he just smiled and blushed a little. So then we went to take the picture and I told him how the first time we met(2 months before) he didn't smile in our picture and I was sad. So he was like "aww I'm sorry." So we took the picture. Hugged again and as we hugged he said "I promise, I smiled this time." (I think he did a god job. lol)

As I was about to leave I turned back to Brian and said "Psst...I really love Over My Head., It's my favorite." And he smiled and whispered back and said "Thank you."

The show:
I was pretty much 1st row. I had an amazing view. He started out with "My Answer Is You" and then "Wish followed that. (I'm not sure of the exact order but he did every song on "Welcome Home" except for "Jesus Loves You." He also did "In Christ Alone" and a BSB medley of "I want it that way" and "As long as you love me." He also did a small part of "That's what she said."

He was so cute during the whole show. Randomly doing silly dances and his famous "Alright!" and stuff.

Right before "In Christ Alone" he was introducing it and said "Did you know the next song reach #1 on Christian radio on July 4th of last year?" I was like the only one to yell or cheer or anything. And he looked over at me and said "Did you really know that?" And I laughed and said "yes!" (I really did lol) and he imitated me and was like "She's over here like "Woo hoo yeah I knew that!" (He didn't do a good job of imitating me by the way. LOL)

After the BSB medley he talked about the first time he met Leighanne and then he went into "Grace Of My Life." He dedicated it to her and said "She's not here but she sends her Hello and her love and if she was here she'd be like..." (Then he did his best Leighanne impression.)

He talked about going to church in a club. He mentioned BSB and how they had a tentative date to go back to the studio on June 26th.

He told the story about Leighanne and how she was supposed to be on the plane that hit into the World Trade Center. He then performed "Gone Without Goodbye." He started to tear up a little bit too. I cried like a baby as he performed it. So beautiful.

He show us the Welcome Home video for the first time. It wasn't even the final version, it was a rough cut. The video wasn't even out yet. He did it while he performed "Welcome Home" so it was kind of cool.

He closed the show with my favorite song "Over My Head." But before he did it he thanked us for coming and stuff and everyone kept yelling for him to do "That's what she said." So he did. Love that song. :)

So after the show we watched him leave. He was in the passenger seat of a van. Most fans were all on the opposite side I got smart and ran to the other side of the street where he was sitting and waved good-bye, he smiled and waved back while he was on the phone. :)
