Glory Revealed tour 2007

Another installment of a throwback Thursday blog. This time from the Glory Revealed tour that Brian was a part of with other Christian artists. I went to 3 and a 1/2 shows.(one was cut short because it was during GMA week.)

April 9, 2007: Frederick, MD.
The show: I drove from Buffalo to Frederick, MD. It took about 6 and a 1/2 hours. I go there about 3:30pm found out I had just missed Brian. We were hanging outside the venue. Brian, Mac Powell and David Nasser came out of a restaurant across the street after eating. Mac and David kind of hung out in the back while Brian chatted and signed stuff for us. He signed my Christian planet magazine and said "Let me tell you a little trivia about this, the shirt is actually green." I was like "uhhhh okay?" (Still convinced its blue Brian ;) LOL) After a few minutes they said he had to go so they left.

So we went inside to get our tickets, look at merchandise, ect. For the first show we had row 16. Not too close but they weren't that bad either. The lighting for the first show was bad. There was fog, it was terrible. I didn't take many pics really because they barely turned out. At times Brian seemed really bored, in fact all the artists seemed like they weren't really feeling it at first. (It was the first show of the tour so I guess its kind of acceptable. lol) But him and the rest of the artists seemed to really open up more as the tour rolled along. It almost seemed like the 1st show of the tour was a "practice" show, even David Nasser made a similar comment. All the other artists made Backstreet Boys jokes randomly throughout the show, it was hilarious. Mac introduced Brian and told the story about how they started working together and how they co-wrote "You alone." Mac talked about how Brian asked to change up things on "You alone" and Mac was kind of nervous at first. But then after hearing the final product he loved it. Then he sang "You alone." Told the story of writing "Welcome Home" and then sang it. He only did 3 songs on his own, the final song was "Over my head." He talked about it was his current single. I was super excited because that's my favorite song. :)

The other artists were really good too. I didn't know much about any of them before the tour but after I became fans of their music. The one group was Shane and Shane and when they went to sing the one Shane was talking about how cool it was to be on the same stage with Mr. Powell and a Backstreet Boy.

David Nasser's speech/sermon was absolutely hilarious. It was how he informed us about God and his glory and stuff but he did it in a fun not so preachy type of way. "You stick a lighter under their chin and you say 'It's hot in hell baby come on home!" They ended the show with "By his wounds." Then they all did a few prayer songs. Overall I was very impressed with the show.

Meet-n-Greet:

We didn't even know there would be one until David Nasser said during the show how all the artists wanted to meet the fans so that was cool. We were the first ones in line. Not all the artists were at the table. But the ones who were there signed my Glory Revealed poster I had bought. Mac Powell asked me if I enjoyed the show and I said yes and how I was going to the next show(tomorrow) and the shows in Chattanooga and Nashville, TN. He said that was awesome and asked where I was from. Told him Buffalo and the Shane's chimed in to say "It's always cold there but they have good chicken wings." (Typical Buffalo stereo-types. LOL)

I got to Brian he thanked me for coming and signed my poster. He saw I was wearing my HHC hoodie and he said "That's a cool shirt." I said "Oh yeah? I think you should get one." And he laughed and said "I think I have one in my closest." I asked him to "smile pretty" and he did...well...

My friend asked Brian to hold up his necklace but at first he thought she meant his cross bracelet so he held it up and was like "This was a gift from my wife." Then we were like "no the necklace" So he held up his "Cross bling"(as he called it) and said "definitely won this at a swap meet." (I doubt it but you never know with that man. LOL)

After we were just chilling and David Nasser stopped to talk to us. He was picking on Brian's height which was funny because they were about the same height. He told us if we wanted a picture with Brian we'd have to duck down because he's really short and how they all share a tour bus and that since his wife isn't on the road to help he has to help give him a boost up into his bunk at night.

(Me and David Nasser)

April 10, 2007: Woodbridge, VA.

The show: So it was about an hour from Frederick, MD. to Woodbridge, VA. We got there a little bit early and kept seeing the artists come out to the bus for stuff, except Brian. He was being a "Diva" this day. ;) So about 6 we went into the venue got our tickets this time we were in row C. The lighting was much better for this show. All the artists seemed to open up more during this show as well. Before the show(and before seeing Brian at all) we joked that he would wear pink....and he did. Kind of creepy. ;) LOL

When it was Brian's turn to sing he told a quick story about "Welcome Home" and why he wrote it, where he wrote it and his story about being a Christian singer. He told the same story about working with Mac Powell as well.
Before he went to sing "Over my head" they were having technical difficulties so Brian and the rest of the artists started singing the "Mississippi Squirrel revival" (It was pretty hilarious)

He talked about how he was gonna remake some Backstreet Boys songs and sing "Oh my God it's Shane and Shane." Shane E. was talking about how creative all the artists were and Brian get up and show everyone the little rhinestones on his pants and said "Brian recently got a bedazzler and he put rhinestones on his pants and tomorrow he's gonna come on my bus and help me with my pants." LOL

Meet-n-Greet: This time we were at the end of the line. Hanging out, taking random pictures and playing around. So its our turn to go through the line. This was when we discovered Mac Powell wasn't a fan of us but that's okay. He even told us to leave and go to the Waffle house. Haha Oops?

So this time I had everyone sign my Glory Revealed CD except when I got to Brian I cheated and asked him to sign my Welcome Home CD too. ;) Of course he was his typically sweet self and said sure. Before I got to Brian though we were talking to David Nasser and he started singing "Over my head" and then he was like "So you really are here just for Brian aren't you tell me the truth?" And I said "Honestly at first yes but after discovering the other artists I am becoming a fan of everyone." He was like "That's awesome but I have a question for you?" I was thinking "Oh boy he's probably gonna ask me to name 1 bible verse for each Backstreet Boy or something.(If you've seen the show you understand what I mean) but then he was like "So who's your favorite *N SYNC member?" and I laughed and was like "why would you ask me that when Brian's right over there?" And Brian heard and laughed and said "Really? Come on now." (His face was funny) Then David was like "Alright for real though I don't care what anyone says you know what I say? "Forget Justin bringing sexy back, Brian's bringing church back!" my mouth kind of just dropped and David was like "What's wrong?" and I said "Look at what my shirt says that I made?" My shirt said "Forget Justin bringing sexy back, Brian's church back!" And I just made that up and none of the artists had seen it before so it was pretty creepy that he said the same thing. So David was like "How cool is that? I just made that joke up right now on the spot and never seen your shirt." And I was like "Actually its kind of creepy." LOL Brian saw my shirt and said it was awesome. :) Brian also decided to "smile" nicely for me again. Haha He's a dork. He told us thanks again for being there and we told him how we'd be in TN for the Dove awards and GMA week and he said how awesome it was and that he'd see us there.

April 20, 2007: Chattanooga, TN.
The show: Won't go into too much detail since I already talked about it in the 2 previous shows. It was pretty much the same.

Brian and Mac told the story of how they started working together. Mac made fun of Brian's impression of  Mac and told him he sounded like George W. Bush. Mac was like "I was like the president is calling B-rok that's awesome." And Brian was like "he wouldn't be doing that." Mac was talking about how he was scared Brian wanted to change stuff on "You alone." He was like "I was preparing myself I was like I'm gonna have to tell a Backstreet Boy no on this one." He was like "I was expecting 'ohh baby.' and Brian was like "Come on, it's scripture, its scripture night." And Mac was like "ohh baby Jesus and then Brian was like "Baby Jesus in a manger yowwww." Then Mac said how Brian brought him the song and loved it. It was pretty funny.
Brian told his stories about his songs and being a Christian artist.
Brian also sang a song with Tim Neufield and I loved it.

There wasn't a meet-n-greet after this show because Mac Powell and David Nasser had their families out with them. We went behind the venue to where the buses were to see if we could see Brian because my one friend wanted to meet him and never had the chance. As soon as we got there Brian was getting off his bus and the one security guard told us he wouldn't come over. I had a card for him since it was the boys 14th anniversary that day. So we yelled "Brian!" and he yelled back "What?" And I said I had a card for him and how there were girls who wanted to meet him that never have. So as he was walking over he was telling the security guard how it was okay that we were there and stuff. As soon as he came over he gave me the most gigantic bear hug, I loved it! :)

I handed him the card and he looked confused so I told him how it was the boys 14th anniversary and he was like "are you sure it's today?" And I said "Yeah April 20th you became a Backstreet Boy in 1993, on April 19th in 1993 your cousin Kevin called you." He laughed and was like "ohhh you are right." LOL He took pictures with everyone and chatted. (my picture is horrible because 2 different people were taking the picture so we weren't looking at the same camera. LOL)

I asked him if there would be a video for "Over my head" and he told me no and I asked why and he said "Because there isn't a big budget for it in the Christian world, cuz I aint no Justin Timberlake." Then he proceeded to dance like JT and I was like "Brian, please stop you are much better than him." LOL Then we talked about his show coming up in the summer, he said it sounded familiar and that he would see me there. LOL Then a lady came out and had to take Brian away.

April 23, 2007: Nashville, TN.

This show was part of Gospel Music Week so it was cut short and they didn't perform as many songs.
But after the show all the artists walked by us so they stopped and chatted. Got pictures with Shane and Shane. Super sweet guys.
Brian stopped and chatted for a little bit. He was with Leighanne. They are super adorable.
After we chatted we got pictures with them as well. Brian was asking us to tell him why we needed pictures or something. I forget, but he was joking and I said "Because you are pretty...." Then he laughed and I said "Wait...no...that wasn't supposed to come out like that. That was supposed to be one of those things I think in my head." And he said "no, its cool let's take a picture because I'm pretty." LOL
And then Leighanne was telling us cute Baylee stories. I seriously love the Littrells. :)
April 25, 2007: Nashville, TN. Brian hosted the Dove Awards with Donnie McClurkin and Natalie Grant but he also performed as part of Glory Revealed. They sang "By his wounds" and it was awesome. :)
And that was the end of my Glory Revealed tour journey. It was so much fun. Started out mostly going for Brian but in the end I discovered so many more talented artists so I am SO glad I went. The CD is amazing as well. :)
